Re-cap and summary of next week

On Thursday, we discussed the creative potential of focal length combined with vantage point. We reviewed some students' Focal Length technical assignments (you need to have that posted to Flickr by the end of Tuesday's class or you will receive a Zero for the assignment).
We then continued our discussion of composition using the reading material in the book on Black and White photography as a jumping off point. You need to have completed the reading from that book by Tuesday. Questions from the book will be included on your quiz on Thursday. Please note, you are responsible for knowing all the content of what is covered in lectures.
Please be prepared to edit your Space photos for most of Tuesday. If the class is done editing earlier, we will review your images on Flickr.
On Thursday, I will show you work by some contemporary artists in preparation of your next assignment.
We will have the final critique of your Faux Space photos on March 15th.

Neat space article

Neat space article showing you a popular space image. I think you could reproduce something like that fairly easily.

Reading about RAW editing and overview of what's on the horizon

Please do the reading which is linked to in the post below.

Tomorrow, you will have some time to edit then we will look at what you have so far in anticipation of the 'real' critique on Tuesday.

Please print your reply from the You Are Here Project and turn that in to me. Congratulations to those that were accepted. Don't sweat it if you were not accepted. There are millions of art shows out there awaiting your applications!

Quiz next week. For sure. Just over basics of exposure and the creative controls that the aperture and shutter speed afford.
